BERLIN — At approximately 1:18 a.m. on June 12, the Berlin Police Department responded to a call of shots fired in the Burgess Street area.

Officers found a 32-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his leg.

The victim was promptly transported to the local hospital by Berlin EMS ambulance and released later that day.

The investigation led to an evening operation where the Emergency Response Team—comprising members from the Berlin Police Department, Berlin Fire Department, and Coos County Sheriff’s Department—arrested 24-year-old Yarette Armondo Dones at about 9:50 p.m. Dones faces charges of Reckless Conduct and 1st Degree Assault and is scheduled for a court appearance on June 14.

Additional unrelated arrests were made during the operation.

Hailey Ramsey, 22, of Berlin, was apprehended for a Probation Violation, and Lynn Vanderhoef, 47, also of Berlin, was taken into custody for Possession of a Controlled Drug.

As all matters remain under investigation, authorities urge anyone with information to contact Lieutenant Wade Goulet at 603-752-3131 ext. 120.
