WORCESTER — A man was arrested Thursday morning by the Worcester Police Department’s Vice Squad for an active warrant and cocaine possession.
At approximately 8:52 a.m., officers acting on a tip that Thiago Teixeira, 38, of Framingham, was involved in cocaine distribution, located him in a vehicle on Piedmont Street.
Teixeira, who had an active warrant for drug and firearms offenses, complied as officers removed him from the vehicle and handcuffed him.
A search of Teixeira’s fanny pack revealed crack cocaine, cash, and drug paraphernalia.
Additional cocaine was found in a cup inside the driver’s side door.
He was arrested on the warrant and faces two charges of possession to distribute class B substances with intent.
The Worcester Police Department continues its efforts to combat drug distribution in the city.
The Vice Squad’s investigation is ongoing.
