THETFORD — Three teenagers were hospitalized early Sunday morning after their vehicle crashed on VT 113 near Berger Road, according to the Vermont State Police.

Troopers from the St. Johnsbury Barracks responded to the scene at 3:01 a.m. to find a 2017 Honda Accord with severe damage.

The driver, a 19-year-old from Hanover, New Hampshire, sustained moderate injuries.

Two passengers, a 19-year-old from Windsor and a 16-year-old from Hartland, both in Vermont, were seriously injured but are expected to survive.

All occupants were wearing seat belts.

The injured were transported to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities suspect that high speed and impairment may have contributed to the accident, which remains under investigation, and charges are pending.

The Vermont State Police were supported by Thetford Fire Department, Upper Valley Ambulance, Hanover Ambulance, and Ward’s Garage in their response to the incident.

Further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
