Springfield man arrested on warrant during police visit

SPRINGFIELD — A routine visit to the Springfield Police Department led to the arrest of a local man on an in-state warrant late Saturday night.

Ryan Haines arrived at the police station around 10:16 p.m. for matters unrelated to the warrant.

Upon checking his records, dispatchers discovered an active warrant for his arrest.

Sheriff Palmer of the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department and Officer Guzzo of the Springfield Police were involved in the arrest, which occurred without incident at 10:17 p.m.

Following the arrest, Haines was issued a criminal citation to appear at the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division in White River Junction on Monday at 12:30 p.m.

He was transported to the Southern State Correctional Facility and is being held in lieu of $1,000.00 cash or surety bail.
