BOSTON — Two 17-year-old males were arrested early Wednesday morning on firearm charges after a chase in Roxbury, Boston Police Department officials reported.
At about 12:45 a.m., officers from the Anti-Crime Unit of District B-2 responded to Humboldt Avenue and Homestead Street following a complaint about loud music.
Upon arrival, they spotted two males quickly walking away from the scene, who then ran as police attempted to engage them.
During the foot pursuit up Munroe Street, officers observed one suspect clutching his waistband and later holding a firearm.
Commands to stop and drop the gun were issued, but while one suspect was apprehended after a struggle, the other scaled a fence.
The second suspect was found hiding in a bush after officers noticed a discarded Glock 20 with twelve rounds in the magazine behind the fence.
Both were charged with multiple counts, including unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a large capacity feeding device, destruction of property, trespassing, and resisting arrest.
The juveniles are set to be arraigned at Boston Juvenile Court.
