Poultney woman arrested for burglary, domestic assault

POULTNEY — Vermont State Police arrested a local woman on charges of burglary and domestic assault after an incident on E Main Street early Wednesday morning.

Troopers from the Rutland Barracks responded to a family fight call at approximately 8:47 a.m. Upon arrival and through subsequent investigation, authorities determined that 46-year-old Jessica Doane unlawfully entered a residence and vandalized property she did not own.

Further investigation revealed that Doane also inflicted pain and injury upon an individual with whom she previously had a relationship.

The name of the victim was not released, in adherence to Vermont State Police policy on incidents of domestic violence.

Doane was taken into custody and processed at the Rutland Barracks.

Following processing, she was released with court-imposed conditions mandating her appearance at the Vermont Superior Court, Rutland Criminal Division on June 17 at 12:30 p.m.
