LEVERETT — A motorcycle crash involving a Chevy SUV and a Harley Davidson left an adult male motorcyclist with serious injuries this afternoon, according to Leverett Police Department.
The collision occurred around 3:20 p.m. near the intersection of Wendell Depot Road and Farley Rd in Wendell.
Leverett Police, which provides police service to Wendell through an intermunicipal agreement, was dispatched to the scene along with Wendell Fire, Shutesbury Police, New Salem Police, Orange Ambulance, and Massachusetts State Police.
The injured motorcyclist was transported by Orange Ambulance to Athol Memorial Hospital.
The crash resulted in the closure of both roadways for about four hours as emergency crews attended to the scene.
Massachusetts State Police have taken charge of the investigation, and any further inquiries should be directed to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office, stated Chief Scott D. Minckler of the Leverett Police Department.
