NEWPORT — The Four Seasons Garden Club held its Annual Meeting at the Belvedere Restaurant, with the stunning Lake Memphremagog serving as a picturesque backdrop for the event. Doris Van Mullen, President of the Federated Garden Clubs of Vermont, joined club members to formally induct the new officers for 2024.
The newly installed officers include Co-Presidents Suzanne Suthers and Marvelene Richards, Co-Secretaries Helen Before and Fran Batchelder, and Co-Treasurers Jean Holcomb and Sue Dunn.
Following lunch, club members listened to annual reports and discussed plans for the upcoming year. The club’s agenda includes maintaining public gardens at North Country Hospital and The Old Stone House, participating in the Art in Bloom event at the MAC Center for the Arts on July 26, and planning educational programs at local schools.
In addition, the Four Seasons Garden Club will collaborate with the Vermont Land Trust this year to plan and create a pollinator meadow and maintain the flower beds at Bluffside Farm in Newport.
