SIMSBURY — A 10-year-old pedestrian was struck by a vehicle while crossing Elm Street in the designated crosswalk at the intersection of Elm and Church Streets in Tariffville on June 9 at approximately 3:40 p.m.
According to the Simsbury Police Department, the child was hit by a vehicle traveling east on Elm Street.
The driver of the vehicle stopped immediately to provide assistance to the young pedestrian.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and determined that the child had suffered minor injuries.
The pedestrian was transported to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.
The driver of the vehicle involved was not injured in the incident.
The accident is currently under investigation by the Simsbury Police Department, and additional information may be made available as the investigation progresses.
