SWANTON — A local man has been cited for assault following an incident in which a 78-year-old was allegedly pushed to the ground and struck multiple times.
According to the Swanton Village Police Department, officers responded to a report of an assault at 33 Grand Avenue at about 5:24 p.m. on June 2.
Witnesses reported seeing Gage Rockwood push the elderly victim and then hit them in the torso multiple times.
The victim’s injuries were consistent with the witness accounts.
Rockwood had fled the scene by the time authorities arrived but was identified during the investigation.
Police located him on June 5 and issued a citation for him to appear in court on Monday, June 10, at 1 p.m.
The Swanton Village Police are seeking further information from the public.
