BEVERLY — Three men were arrested on charges related to fentanyl trafficking and cocaine distribution after a Beverly Police Drug Control Unit operation on June 4.
Francis Alberto Carmona-Lara, 29, and Juan Suarez-Lara, 38, both from Lawrence, were taken into custody following the seizure of significant amounts of fentanyl and cocaine.
Paul Farrar, 50, of Beverly, was also charged in the bust.
The arrests occurred after detectives conducting surveillance in the Broadway area noticed suspicious activity involving a dark Honda CRV parked next to a dumpster.
Upon investigation, detectives approached Farrar as he walked away from the vehicle and subsequently found him in possession of approximately 68 grams of fentanyl.
Carmona-Lara and Suarez-Lara, who were inside the Honda at the time, initially provided false identification but were later properly identified during the booking process.
Authorities recovered a total of 98 grams of fentanyl, around 14 grams of cocaine, and $2,300 in cash from the vehicle.
Charges against Carmona-Lara include trafficking more than 10 grams of fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute Class B cocaine, refusing to identify himself, and an outstanding warrant.
Suarez-Lara faces similar charges, along with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and three outstanding warrants.
All three men were expected to be arraigned at Salem District Court this morning.
