SCITUATE — Rhode Island State Troopers on Wednesday arrested two individuals on separate charges, one for an active assault warrant and another for DUI and failing to appear in court.
At 10:58 a.m., troopers took Edgardo Caban, 57, of Providence into custody at his 63 Bergen Street residence on an active affidavit and arrest warrant for simple assault from the Providence Police Department.
After a warrant check, Caban was transported to State Police Headquarters for processing and later handed over to Providence police.
Later in the day, at 12:03 p.m., Donna Bennett, 45, of West Warwick, was arrested following a motor vehicle accident investigation on Route 6 in Johnston.
Bennett faces charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, refusal to submit to a chemical test, and a Kent County Superior Court bench warrant for failing to appear for arraignment on a possession of Schedule I-IV charge.
After processing at State Police Headquarters, Bennett was held as a bail violator.
