Troopers arrest two in Providence on multiple offenses

PROVIDENCE — Two individuals were arrested by Rhode Island State Police on separate offenses following vehicle stops in the capital city, authorities said Monday.

At 2:34 p.m., troopers apprehended Ashley Rodrigues, 31, of Pawtucket, on a warrant for Driving with a Suspended License, marking her fourth or subsequent offense.

The arrest originated from the Providence Police Department and occurred after a stop on Silver Spring Street.

Rodrigues was taken to Lincoln Woods Barracks for processing before being handed over to Providence police.

Later that evening, at 11:46 p.m., Leonel Cante Ardon, 24, of Providence, was arrested on multiple charges including Felony Assault, Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, DUI with an unknown blood alcohol content for a first offense, Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test also for a first offense, and carrying prohibited weapons.

The arrest followed a barracks investigation and resulted in a vehicle stop on Providence Place.

Cante Ardon was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, processed, and held overnight pending arraignment the following morning.
