BOSTON — Boston police officers responding to a report of a large fight on Saturday night in Roxbury arrested a man on multiple firearm and drug charges.

At about 11:16 p.m. on June 1, officers from District B-2 were dispatched to the Annunciation Housing development at 60 Annunciation Road, where a group of over 30 people were reportedly fighting.

Upon arrival, the officers observed a large crowd drinking and causing a disturbance.

As officers monitored the scene, they noticed a man dressed in black who separated himself from the group, walked behind a parked vehicle, appeared to hide something underneath it, and then rejoined the crowd.

Upon investigating, officers found a firearm concealed inside a sock behind the vehicle.

The suspect, identified as Joshua Carvahlo, 25, of Foxboro, was arrested at the scene.

During the booking process at District B-2, a large bag containing approximately 14 grams of what is believed to be crack cocaine was found on Carvahlo.

The firearm recovered was a black Ruger LCP .380 auto with its serial number obliterated.

It was loaded with six rounds of .380 ammunition, though none were in the chamber.

Carvahlo is expected to face charges at Roxbury District Court, including Carrying a Loaded Firearm Without a License, Carrying a Firearm Without a License, Possession of Ammunition Without an FID Card, Defacing Serial Number of a Firearm, Firearm Possession with 1 Prior Violent and/or Drug Crime, and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B Drugs.
