Two arrested in Scituate on bench warrants following traffic stops

SCITUATE — Rhode Island State Troopers apprehended two individuals on Saturday for separate outstanding warrants, following routine traffic stops.

At 3:40 p.m., Troopers took into custody Jeru Hill, 27, of Woonsocket, on two Providence Superior Court Bench Warrants.

The first warrant was for Failure to Appear for Determination of Attorney with the original charge of Domestic Violence-Violation of a No Contact Order issued from the State Police Scituate Barracks.

The second warrant related to a Failure to Appear for Determination of Attorney on a charge of Domestic Assault by Strangulation from the Woonsocket Police Department.

Hill’s arrest occurred during a vehicle stop on Social Street in Woonsocket.

He was processed at State Police Headquarters and subsequently transferred to the ACI Men’s Intake Center.

Later that evening, at 10:37 p.m., Katrina Kearns, 34, of Warwick, was arrested following a traffic stop on Putnam Pike in Smithfield.

Kearns faced a Third District Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear for a Pre-trial Conference on an original charge of Driving with a Suspended License from the Cranston Police Department.

Kearns was also processed at State Police Headquarters before being sent to the ACI Women’s Intake Center.
