PANTON — A single-vehicle ATV crash on East Road claimed the life of a Vergennes man late Saturday evening.
Vermont State Police identified the victim as 23-year-old Colin Hossink of Vergennes, who was involved in an accident at around 8:28 p.m. near the 708 East Road address.
According to authorities, Hossink’s 2005 Honda Sportrax 450R veered off the roadway and crashed into a field, resulting in fatal injuries.
The road was closed for an estimated six hours as the VSP Crash Reconstruction Team conducted an investigation at the scene.
Local law enforcement agencies, including the Vergennes Police Department, Addison County Sheriff’s Department, alongside the Vergennes Fire Department and Vergennes Rescue, provided assistance.
While the cause of the crash remains under investigation, the Vermont State Police are urging anyone with information to contact the New Haven Barracks at 802-388-4919.
