BOSTON — Boston police officers apprehended a man on firearm and drug charges following a fight in the Dorchester neighborhood late Friday night.
At about 11:15 p.m., on May 31, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested 42-year-old Dorchester resident William White.
The incident occurred near 469 Blue Hill Avenue, where officers responded to reports of a fight.
Upon arrival, officers overheard a bystander telling the suspect to leave the area because he was carrying a gun.
The officers quickly approached White and attempted to frisk him.
White resisted by pushing their hands away, but officers managed to subdue him and discovered a firearm in his waistband.
During the search, a plastic bag containing crack cocaine was also found on White.
The firearm was identified as a J.A.
Nine, loaded with one round in the chamber and twelve rounds in the magazine.
The drugs were approximately eight grams of crack cocaine.
White faces charges including unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a large capacity feeding device, and possession of class B drugs.
He is scheduled to be arraigned at Roxbury District Court.
