Boston police arrest man, seize loaded firearm during traffic stop

ROXBURY — Officers from the Boston Police Department arrested Reginald Sean Anderson, a 22-year-old Dorchester man, on firearm charges after a late-night traffic stop on Tuesday, May 28.

While patrolling the intersection of Eire St. and Washington St. around 2:00 a.m., officers noticed a vehicle speeding in adverse weather conditions.

After initiating a traffic stop with emergency lights and sirens, officers identified Anderson as the driver and discovered he was operating the vehicle with a suspended license.

A subsequent search by officers and detectives from B-2 (Roxbury) led to the discovery of a loaded Smith & Wesson SD-9 handgun and a magazine with 16 rounds of ammunition in the vehicle’s glove compartment.

Anderson was taken into custody and faces charges including Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device, and Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended License.
