WILTON — A young female thought to have been abducted was safely recovered after a high-speed pursuit ended in a collision and the apprehension of four juvenile suspects on May 24.

At around 4:23 p.m., a concerned citizen alerted the Wilton Police Department to an incident where a young female seemed to be forced into a black vehicle without license plates on Ridgefield Road near Drum Hill Road.

Officers located the vehicle heading north toward the Ridgefield town line and attempted to pull it over, but the driver refused to stop, leading police on a chase.

The pursuit continued until the suspect vehicle entered the Tanglewood Court cul-de-sac in Ridgefield, where the female either jumped or was pushed from the car.

She was later taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The chase resumed on Route 33 as the suspects fled north, but it came to an abrupt end when the vehicle crashed into another car on Catoonah Street in Ridgefield.

The occupants then fled on foot.

With the assistance of Ridgefield residents and K-9 units from Ridgefield and Bridgeport, two juveniles were quickly apprehended, and the remaining two were captured shortly after.

The apprehended juveniles were taken to the Wilton Police Department for further investigation and were subsequently released to their guardians.

The Wilton Police Department expressed gratitude toward the citizen whose timely report initiated the response, the Ridgefield residents who aided in the search for the suspects, and the law enforcement agencies that offered their support.
