Nashua firefighters douse blaze in Railroad Square building

NASHUA — Firefighters swiftly extinguished a fire in a mixed-use building in Railroad Square after responding to an automatic alarm at around 2:15 p.m.

Upon arrival at 27 Railroad Square, Nashua Fire Rescue crews observed smoke emanating from the fourth floor of the large masonry structure, which houses residential units above commercial spaces.

Residents had reported a fire in one of the fourth-floor apartments.

Engine companies immediately began deploying hose lines to the affected apartment, while the ladder crew tackled the remaining flames using an Air Pressurized Water extinguisher.

The coordinated effort led to a rapid containment of the fire, preventing further damage to the structure and ensuring the safety of its occupants.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, and further details will be provided as they become available.

No injuries were reported, and all residents were accounted for, according to fire department officials.
