MANCHESTER — A suspect wanted for murder in New York City was arrested in Manchester on Wednesday afternoon, marking the end of a two-month-long investigation, according to Hillsborough County Sheriff Chris Connelly.
Jeremy Amadiz, the individual apprehended, was located by the Manchester Police Department SWAT Team during the execution of a search warrant at a residence on 309 Cedar Street.
The search warrant was issued following the persistent and detailed police work of lead investigator, Deputy Shane Beauchemin, who tracked down leads that revealed Amadiz’s whereabouts.
Amadiz is currently detained as a fugitive from justice and faced arraignment this morning at the 9th Circuit- District Division Manchester.
During the arrest and subsequent searches of the apartment, law enforcement seized a loaded firearm and a quantity of drugs.
Officials anticipate that additional charges will be filed against him.
In connection with the investigation, two others were also taken into custody.
Kelly Johns was arrested on a warrant for Armed Robbery and First Degree Assault from the Manchester Police Department, while Benny Amadiz was apprehended on two warrants from the Hillsborough County Superior Court for failure to appear in court on charges of Possession of a Controlled Drug and Breach of Bail.
The fugitive apprehension operation received support from the Manchester Police Department, NH Department of Corrections Probation/Parole, United States Marshals Service, and the US Drug Enforcement Administration.
Sheriff Connelly commended the joint effort and highlighted the operation as a testament to the strong cooperation among local, county, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in New Hampshire.
