LYNDON — A 34-year-old man from Lyndon has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault following an incident involving a 21-year-old St. Johnsbury resident, Vermont State Police reported.
Authorities received a distress call late on May 16 from Connor Ladd, who reported being physically assaulted by Trevor Gaouette.
State Police Troopers from the St. Johnsbury barracks initially responded to the call, which occurred at 10:23 p.m.
Efforts to obtain a statement from Gaouette at the time were unsuccessful.
However, four days later, on May 20 at approximately 6:50 p.m., troopers made contact with Gaouette at his Lyndon residence.
Gaouette was taken into custody without incident and transported to the St. Johnsbury Barracks for processing.
He has been cited to appear at the Caledonia County Court on May 21 at 12:30 p.m. to respond to the charge of aggravated assault.
