NEEDHAM — A string of vehicle break-ins and thefts has prompted the Needham Police Department to issue a public safety alert for residents.
Authorities reported that during the overnight hours, at least six motor vehicles were broken into.
Additionally, one vehicle was stolen but has since been recovered.
Another vehicle, found in Needham, was identified as stolen from a neighboring city.
The police are seeking assistance from the community and have requested that anyone with video footage showing individuals around their driveways during the night contact the public safety center at 781-444-1212.
Residents are reminded to lock their vehicles, bring valuables inside, and promptly report any suspicious activity.
According to police, most suspects can enter and leave a vehicle in under 15 seconds, making it critical for residents to alert authorities immediately if they observe something out of the ordinary.
