SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield man was cited for unlawful trespass early Wednesday morning after he was found at a local convenience store from which he had been previously banned, police said.

According to a press release from the Springfield Police Department, Officer Freeman responded to the Penguin Mart at approximately 5:40 a.m. on May 8 after receiving a report of a trespassing incident involving Brandon Heist.

Upon arrival, Freeman’s investigation revealed that Heist was allegedly on the property despite having been served a trespass notice that prohibited him from being at the location.

Heist was issued a citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, at 8 a.m. on July 9 to answer to the charge of Unlawful Trespass.
