NEW LONDON — On Thursday, police and emergency crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident involving a car and a juvenile bicyclist at the intersection of Jefferson Ave. and Ashcraft Rd. at around 3:05 p.m.
The young cyclist sustained injuries that were deemed non-life-threatening and was promptly transported to L+M Hospital for treatment by the New London Fire Department.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the collision remained at the scene and is currently cooperating with law enforcement officials.
The New London Police Accident Reconstruction Team is on site and conducting a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the incident, which remains active.
