PORTLAND — Police recovered a body from the mud flats near the old Baked Beans Factory by Tukey’s Bridge on May 14 after receiving a call at 11:32 a.m. reporting a possible dead body.
Upon arrival, officers from the Portland Police Department secured the scene and recovered the body.
The Office of Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an investigation to determine the cause of death.
Authorities are asking for the public’s assistance with the case.

The identity of the deceased has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
