AUBURN — At approximately 12:31 p.m. yesterday, May 13, the Auburn Police Department received several 911 calls reporting a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle near 9 Homestead Avenue.
Officers arrived at the scene to find a chaotic situation with a man on the ground, bleeding from the head and in severe pain.
Witnesses stated that the female driver remained in the area and had kicked a bystander who was attempting to aid the victim.
According to witnesses, the female driver appeared to have purposely hit the victim with her car after the pair was seen arguing near a church shortly before the incident.
The woman was taken into custody based on the investigation.
During an interview with detectives, the woman admitted to being in a long-term dating relationship with the victim and using both drugs and alcohol earlier in the day before striking the man.
The Central Massachusetts Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) Crash Reconstructionists and Drone Operators assisted Auburn detectives in the investigation.
The woman is scheduled to be arraigned in Worcester District Court on Tuesday, May 14.
Due to the nature of the incident, no further information will be released.
