BOSTON — Members of the A-7 (East Boston) Drug Control Unit, with assistance from the D-4 (South End/Back Bay) and E-5 (West Roxbury) Drug Control Units, executed multiple search warrants on Tuesday, May 7, as part of Operation “Clean House” at 44 Border Street, East Boston.
This residential address has been a persistent hotspot for illicit drug activity within the Maverick Landing Housing Development.
Numerous community complaints, 911 calls, police reports, and drug law violation arrests flagged the urgency of intervention.
According to the Boston Regional Intelligence Center, there have been approximately 52 documented drug-related incidents at 44 Border Street from January to April.
After a thorough six-month investigation, authorities seized over 100 grams of cocaine/crack cocaine, along with more than 60 grams of fentanyl, and $2,610 in U.S. currency.
Ten suspects were arrested on various charges:
– Samuel Junta, 43, of East Boston – Arrested for trafficking Class B exceeding 70 grams
– Kerry Bell, 47, of East Boston – Arrested for trafficking Class B exceeding 70 grams
– Youssef Benelmir, 50, of East Boston – Arrested on two outstanding warrants
– Reinaldo Diaz, 45, of East Boston – Arrested for possession with intent to distribute Class A
– Edwin Pagan, 47, of East Boston – Arrested for possession with intent to distribute Class A
– Christina Dionizio, 30, of East Boston – Arrested for an outstanding warrant
– Victoria Herrera, 30, of East Boston – Arrested for trespassing
– Amin Roundil, 30, of East Boston – Arrested for trespassing
– Youssef Benarba, 30, of East Boston – Arrested on eight outstanding warrants
– Edwin Ceballo-Hernandez, 36, of East Boston – Arrested for trafficking Class A and trafficking Class B
All suspects are scheduled to appear at East Boston District Court for arraignment.
