WATERBURY — A collision involving two vehicles occurred on Interstate 89 northbound near mile marker 62.85 around 5:31 p.m., authorities said.
Vermont State Police, along with Waterbury Fire Department and Waterbury Ambulance, responded to the crash.
The incident involved a 2023 Ford F150, driven by 22-year-old Evan Hallstrom of Northfield, and a 2010 Nissan Altima, which was disabled and unoccupied at the time of the crash.
According to the investigation, the Nissan, operated by 51-year-old Robert Finnegan, was parked on the right shoulder of the highway with hazard lights on due to a disability.
Finnegan was away from the vehicle, making a call for a tow truck, when Hallstrom’s Ford struck the Nissan’s rear end.
Despite the front-end damage to the Ford and rear-end damage to the Nissan, no injuries were reported by either party.
The road conditions were dry under cloudy skies, and Hallstrom was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the incident.
No hospital visits were necessary for either individual involved in the crash.
