PROVIDENCE — Rhode Island State Police arrested a Providence man Wednesday on charges including obtaining property by false pretenses and conspiracy to commit a felony.
Arturo Castro Pinto, 21, of 59 Burlington Street, was taken into custody at 4 p.m. after troopers executed an affidavit and arrest warrant issued by the Scituate Barracks.
Pinto is accused of 1) obtaining property by false pretenses, 2) conspiracy with the intent to commit a felony punishable by five to ten years, and 3) receiving stolen goods.
The arrest is the culmination of an investigation led by the State Police, but further details on the circumstances surrounding the alleged crimes were not immediately disclosed.
Pinto is being held at the Scituate Barracks and is expected to face a judge for arraignment in the coming days.
The Rhode Island State Police continue to investigate the case and have not yet released information regarding potential accomplices or the value of the property involved.
