Troopers arrest two on multiple warrants following traffic stops in Providence

PROVIDENCE — Troopers from the Lincoln Woods Barracks arrested a Providence man on May 6 at 12:30 p.m. on five separate warrants, including charges of felony domestic assault and violation of a no-contact order.

Marcos Gonzalez, 40, of 88 Carr Street, Floor 2 in Providence, was apprehended after a vehicle stop on Broad Street.

His warrants issued by the Providence Superior Court included a bench warrant on the original charge of felony domestic assault, two additional bench warrants for failure to appear and a 32(f) violation, as well as an affidavit and arrest warrant for violation of a no-contact order and public order crimes.

Gonzalez was processed at State Police Headquarters and subsequently handed over to the Cranston Police Department.

In a separate incident early the next day, on May 7 at 12:24 a.m., troopers arrested Shawn Coyle, 25, of 85 Sherman Street in Pawtucket.

Coyle was detained following a traffic stop on Garden Street for a Providence County Superior Court bench warrant for failing to appear for presentment as a violator on an original charge of domestic assault by strangulation.

After processing at State Police Headquarters, Coyle was turned over to the Adult Correctional Institutions Men’s Intake Center.
