GREENBUSH — Authorities recovered a deceased individual from the Penobscot River off Main Road on May 5, officials from the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Office reported.
The Penobscot County Regional Communications Center received a call at about 2:15 p.m. reporting the body.
Sheriff’s deputies along with the Maine Warden Service and Maine State Police responded to the scene to recover the victim.
The Penobscot County Criminal Investigation Division has taken over the investigation.
Following protocol, the body was transported to the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for identification.
Officials have not released further details pending the medical examiner’s identification and ongoing investigation.
