WELLS — A joint investigation by the Wells Police Department, Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit, and York County District Attorney’s Office into an incident involving an unresponsive infant has led to the arrest of a Massachusetts man.
On May 1, at approximately 395 Post Road, Wells Police and Emergency Medical Services were dispatched following reports of an infant showing signs of lethargy.
Upon arrival, emergency personnel immediately provided medical care to the child.
The ensuing investigation concluded on May 3 with the arrest of Matthew Fowler, 34, of Haverhill, Massachusetts.
Fowler is charged with Aggravated Assault and was apprehended under a warrant.
After failing to post the required bail, Fowler was transferred to York County Jail.
