VERNON — Law enforcement agencies, including the East Central Narcotics Task Force (ECNTF), the DEA Diversion Task Force, and Vernon Police Department, conducted a successful search and arrest operation at a Rockville residence on May 1, leading to the detention of a local man on numerous narcotics and firearms charges.
The suspect, identified as Kiejuan Haugabook, born May 8, 1979, was apprehended at his home at 53 Ward Street after authorities executed a search and seizure warrant linked to an extensive drug investigation.
Haugabook is facing multiple charges, including two counts of possession with intent to sell narcotics, criminal possession of a firearm with a prior felony conviction, illegal possession of a large capacity magazine, criminal possession of ammunition, negligent storage of a firearm, risk of injury to a minor, possession of drug paraphernalia, and operation of a drug factory.
Upon searching Haugabook’s residence on the first floor, officers discovered and seized a significant amount of cocaine and fentanyl, an illegal handgun, and a high-capacity magazine.
The operation was a collaborative effort to combat narcotics trafficking in the area.
Haugabook is currently held on a $750,000 cash or surety bond and is scheduled for a court appearance at GA-19 on May 2.
