HIGHGATE — A Highgate man was cited for negligent operation with serious bodily injury resulting and leaving the scene of an accident after an incident occurred on the evening of April 7.
The Vermont State Police reported that at approximately 9:29 p.m., they received a call about a pedestrian being run over by a vehicle on Virginia Lane.
The alleged victim, Garret Gagne, 26, of Highgate, was transported to Northwest Medical Center with serious injuries.
The accused, Connor Duquette, 30, of Milton, was identified as the driver.
According to the police, Duquette was operating the vehicle in a negligent manner at the time of the incident and left the scene before troopers arrived.
Duquette was later located and has been issued a citation to appear in Franklin County Superior Court on June 17 at 1 p.m. to face the charges.
