FALL RIVER — A local woman was taken into custody by Fall River police after being caught breaking into a motor vehicle on Gagnon Street on May 2.
Akashia Murchison, 36, was confronted by the vehicle owner’s son during the act and was detained until officers arrived on the scene.
Officer Garrett Nelson’s investigation connected Murchison to an additional vehicle break-in nearby.
At the time of her arrest, Murchison was wanted on outstanding warrants for breaking and entering.
Police are now investigating her possible connection to a spate of similar crimes in the area over recent days.
