BROWNINGTON — Saturday, May 4, marks the annual Green-Up Day for Brownington, inviting all community members to participate in cleaning up the town. Green-up bags are available at the Town Clerk’s office for those interested in joining the effort.
Residents are encouraged to collect trash around their homes but are advised against picking up needles or hazardous materials.
Such items should be reported to the coordinator at the town garage. Participants can drop off green bags and up to eight tires per household at the Brownington Town Garage from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Household garbage is not accepted during this event, which focuses on beautifying the town’s highways. In a sweet incentive, children who drop off green bags at the town garage will receive a coupon for a free ice cream at Tim and Doug’s.
