WEST WARWICK — In a heartwarming act of community solidarity, three young cyclists who were struck by a car earlier this year have received new bicycles and helmets, thanks to the generosity of local organizations.
After the accident, which occurred just after the boys left school, each was left with injuries and their bicycles were damaged or destroyed.
The West Warwick Police Department announced that the boys have now fully recovered from their injuries.
In a gesture of support, Bike Newport stepped in to provide each of the boys with a brand-new bicycle.
Additionally, the Injury Prevention Center (IPC) unit at Lifespan contributed by donating new helmets to ensure the young cyclists’ safety on the road.
The donations were received with gratitude and have brought joy to the boys and their families, turning a previously distressing event into a testament to the kindness and community spirit of West Warwick.
