READING — A North Andover man was arrested and charged with operating under the influence and trespassing after police discovered his vehicle parked on train tracks Tuesday night.
Christopher Kierce, 46, of North Andover, was arrested after Reading Police responded to a report of a parked vehicle on the train tracks near Vine Street and High Street at about 9:45 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers found an unoccupied black BMW that had driven over a gravel pit in a construction zone and was partially parked on the tracks, which are owned by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
An MBTA train was forced to make an emergency stop to avoid colliding with the vehicle.
After a search of the area, officers located Kierce approximately 1,000 feet from his vehicle on Middlesex Avenue.
He was arrested without incident and arraigned in Woburn District Court on Wednesday.
