MANCHESTER — Officers from the Greater Hartford Regional Auto Theft Task Force detained four individuals, including a man with an active felony warrant, during a proactive detail on April 30.
The task force, operating in Hartford, noticed Frankie Almodovar-Roman, 22, entering a vehicle with three others.
Knowing Almodovar-Roman had an outstanding felony warrant, officers followed the car to Center Springs Park.
Upon converging on the vehicle, all four occupants were detained, including Almodovar-Roman and Junior Jorge, 19.
During the detention, an extended firearm magazine was spotted on the backseat floorboard, leading to a search that uncovered a “ghost” gun in the passenger area.
Almodovar-Roman resisted arrest, causing damage to the interior of a police cruiser.
He faces charges of Interfering with an Officer and Criminal Mischief 3rd and was subsequently handed over to Glastonbury Police for the active felony warrant.
Jorge was charged with Interfering with an Officer after he tried to hide his identity.
He was found to have two failure-to-appear warrants and was taken into custody with a bond set.
The identities of the other two individuals detained have not been released, and it is unclear if they face any charges.
