NORWALK — A six-month investigation into fentanyl trafficking across the greater Norwalk area culminated on Monday with law enforcement agencies executing search warrants and making multiple arrests.
The Norwalk Police Special Services Division, Norwalk Emergency Services Unit Tactical Response Team, Stamford PD Tactical team, Darien PD, US Marshal’s Service, and the Bridgeport Office of the DEA coordinated in the operation that resulted in searches at three locations in Norwalk and one in Darien.
To date, 17 federal and state arrest warrants have been served in connection with the investigation.
The operation led to the seizure of approximately 15,000 bags of fentanyl, 300 grams of pure fentanyl, one firearm, a quantity of cocaine, and roughly $13,000 in US currency.
Authorities have indicated that this is an ongoing investigation as they continue to track down individuals involved in the fentanyl distribution network.
