Worcester man arrested for illegal firearm possession

WORCESTER — Officers from the Worcester Police Vice Squad arrested a 36-year-old man for illegal possession of a firearm on Lincoln Street, authorities said.

Jinazean Ball was taken into custody on Saturday night after an investigation led police to a business where he was located.

Officers, who had received information that Ball was unlawfully carrying a firearm, stopped him at approximately 7:53 p.m.

Upon questioning, police found a silver semi-automatic firearm on Ball, who did not possess a license to carry firearms.

Ball was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a License to Carry (LTC) or Firearm Identification (FID) Card, possession of Class B substances, and being an armed career criminal level 3.

The Worcester Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances leading to the arrest.
