ORANGE — A Milford man was arrested on April 25 on charges related to home improvement fraud after a lengthy investigation by the Orange Police Department.
Scott Furtado, 53, owner of Custom Stiles Woodworking, LLC, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant.
Furtado was accused of failing to complete contracted kitchen and cabinetry work for Orange residents, despite having received payments exceeding $100,000.
The work had not been delivered for over a year.
The investigation concluded that Furtado did not fulfill the contract and was unable to return the funds he had received.
He faces four counts of Larceny in the First Degree and has posted a $25,000 bond.
Furtado is scheduled to appear in Derby Superior Court on May 8.
Following his arrest by Orange police, Furtado was turned over to Fairfield police on an active arrest warrant for related larceny and home improvement charges.
