BRIDGEPORT — A man was shot and wounded on Orchard Street early Friday morning, prompting a swift response from local law enforcement.
At approximately 12:45 a.m., Bridgeport Police Department officers were dispatched to 334 Orchard Street following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, they discovered a 29-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his abdomen outside the apartment complex.
The victim, whose name has not been released, received immediate medical attention from first responders and was transported by AMR Ambulance to a nearby hospital.
He is currently listed in stable condition.
Bridgeport’s Detective Bureau has taken over the investigation, processing evidence found at the scene and conducting interviews with potential witnesses.
Officers have been canvassing the area in an effort to gather more information.
