SCITUATE — At 10:01 p.m., Rhode Island State Troopers from the Scituate Barracks arrested Steven Cournoyer, age 45, of Woonsocket, on charges of driving under the influence of liquor and/or drugs.
This was his second offense within five years, and refusal to submit to a chemical test, marking his first offense.
The arrest occurred following a routine motor vehicle stop on Route 295 in the Town of Smithfield.
Cournoyer was subsequently transported to State Police Headquarters where he was processed.
He was arraigned by a Justice of the Peace and released into the custody of a responsible adult.
