NEWPORT — North Country Hospital announced the appointment of Fred Schaffner as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), bringing over three decades of experience in financial management across various sectors including non-profit, behavioral healthcare, and acute care.
Prior to joining North Country Hospital, Schaffner served as Vice President of Finance and CFO at Spectrum Healthcare Group in Prescott, Arizona.
Originally from Kentucky and raised in northern Illinois, Schaffner began his professional journey in Omaha, Nebraska, where he earned his undergraduate degree from Creighton University followed by an Accounting C.P.A. from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
Schaffner expressed enthusiasm about integrating into the community, noting the small-town friendliness of the area as particularly impressive. He resides with his wife, four grown children from a blended family, and their two Weimaraner dogs.
