Derby roadwork on I-91 set for next week

1 min read

DERBY — Motorists traveling on Interstate 91 between Exits 27 and 29 should prepare for lane closures starting late next week, as construction crews begin centerline marking ahead of scheduled milling operations. The lane closures will affect both northbound and southbound traffic, with single-lane restrictions anticipated during this initial phase.

The construction activity is part of the ongoing project which extends from approximately a mile before Exit 27 to just past the Canadian border. The project involves a range of improvements, including pothole repair, milling, paving, and the installation of new pavement markings and guardrails.

Next week, in addition to the centerline work, crews will continue to install traffic control devices behind guardrails and along the shoulders. These preparations are necessary to facilitate the daily lane closures required for the upcoming milling operations, set to commence on Monday, May 6.

Motorists are advised to remain vigilant for construction vehicles entering and exiting the highway shoulders and to observe all construction signage.
