SPRINGFIELD — A Springfield woman was apprehended Wednesday evening following a domestic dispute that escalated to violence, resulting in serious injuries to the victim.
Springfield Police officers were called to a residence on Pine Brook Lane at approximately 6:23 p.m. on April 19, after receiving reports of the altercation.
Upon arrival, authorities claim to have discovered evidence that Josephine Rivera had allegedly stabbed the victim during the dispute.
Investigating officers, including Ofc. Freeman, Sgt. Fitzgibbons, and Ofc. Kelcey, took Rivera into custody at 9:26 p.m.
She was processed at the Springfield Police Department and has been charged with first-degree aggravated domestic assault.
Rivera was given a criminal citation to appear in the Windsor Unit of the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division on April 22, to respond to the charge.
She is currently being held at the Southern State Correctional Facility with bail set at $5,000 cash or surety.
