MONTPELIER — A Montpelier man was arrested early Monday morning on multiple charges including driving under the influence and endangering a minor, according to the Montpelier Police Department.
Police responded to a call at 12:58 a.m. on April 22 regarding a vehicle making excessive noise and performing dangerous maneuvers in a state-owned parking lot on Green Mountain Drive.
Officer Andrew Serrels and Corporal Samuel Lambert located the vehicle, which had sustained damage and was subsequently towed from the scene.
The 24-year-old driver from Barre City was found to be impaired by alcohol and was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.
The passenger, a minor, was also found to be under the influence of alcohol that had been furnished by the driver.
The driver is facing charges for driving under the influence (alcohol), careless and negligent operation, reckless endangerment, furnishing alcohol to a minor, and creating excessive noise in the nighttime.
Police have not identified the suspect at this time.
