Montpelier police arrest two on drug and warrant charges

MONTPELIER — Two individuals were taken into custody Monday morning after Montpelier Police Department officers investigated suspicious activity involving multiple people entering a portable toilet together on Pitkin Court.

At approximately 8:13 a.m., officers responded to the scene where they observed signs of illicit drug use.

A 31-year-old male from Berlin was arrested for violating his conditions of release from a prior offense, as he was in contact with another party present, which was prohibited.

Additionally, a 35-year-old female from Berlin was found to have an outstanding extraditable warrant from New Hampshire for failing to appear in court on a previous criminal charge.

She was taken into custody.

Sergeant Christopher Quesnel, Officer Quinn Montes, and Detective Alesha Donovan led the investigation with assistance from the Grafton County Sheriff’s Department in New Hampshire.

At this time police have not identified the suspects.
